This weekend on Sunday 1st September the little village of Battlesbridge on the River Crouch welcomes the annual Essex Boat Jumble and Small Boat Sale. If you’ve never been to one imagine a jumble sale, but full of boating bargains! From 10:00 am onwards visitors to Battlesbridge Antiques and Craft Centre can begin browsing thousands of boating bargains, new and used boat parts, nautical antiques, small boats and chandlery.
The last major regatta of the season begins on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Burnham week is 24th to 31st August this year. If you’re not local there’s a choice of local places to stay in Essex.
Summer is here and it’s swimwear weather at last (some of the time!) It’s the perfect time to lose some lbs! Sadly these boats mis-heard me and dropped off the £££’s instead!

I am having a stressful week. Luckily, sailing is the antidote to stress. Once the ropes are let go you are free from the constraints of modern life and get to spend a bit of quality time with the wind and the water.
