The Echo has recently reported that two brothers are planning a 2,000 mile voyage, sailing around the coast of Britain for charity. Dean Osler, from Eastwood and his brother Craig, from Hullbridge, will be starting their journey aboard their 33ft yacht Nebula on 2nd June and expect to be sailing for two or three months. They will be raising money for Havens Hospices and their fundraising target is £2,000. Havens Hospices cares for children and adults with life-limiting illnesses. Craig, 39 said, “When I was younger I spent a lot of time at Great Ormond Street Hospital with a friend so I know how serious illnesses can affect young children. “I wanted to make a difference to my own community and support Little Havens for the care they offer to local families. This is the longest either of us will have been away from our families and that is going to be really hard for us, but our dad is hoping to join us for a few days when we get down to the south coast.” Dean and Craig have spent the past year practicing their sailing, including some night sailing to prepare themselves for their challenge. We are happy to have sold two of Craig's boats for him over the last few years and look forward to following them on their adventure. Their current boat Nebula is a Moody 33. Check out this Moody 33 for sale at Boatshed Essex (price reduced!) Read the full story here: Echo News

The Boatshed conference 2011 was a great success. Two days spent in and around Portsmouth Dockyard as well as Boatshed HQ in Gosport; with lots of lectures, group meetings and workshops. Approximately 30 Boatsheds came to the event, travelling from destinations across Europe and even as far as Phuket in the Far East.
This week sees Boatshed.com pass the 400,000 registered customer mark.

Here at Boatshed Essex we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The weather has certainly taken its toll at North Fambridge and with the marina completely frozen since Saturday; it’s starting to feels as though the wind down for Christmas has already begun!
Here at Boatshed Essex we are delighted to welcome our newest member of the team David James, David (also known as “Chappie”) will be looking to focus on our ever growing, (and ever demanding need!) to offer a permanent brokerage on this quaint island of West Mersea. Boating and Yachting feature very highly on West Mersea's Agenda and with about a thousand moorings in the surrounding fleets; you can see why the demand for a permanent presence of a boatshed agent will be a much welcomed asset.

Boatshed.com were on the water this afternoon for the start this legendary single-handed transatlantic race.
Sometimes, I come to the conclusion you just get too many emails. Anyhow, whilst poring through Friday’s delivery of the odd two or three hundred emails in my inbox, I noticed one titled Rib Raid; nothing to do with technical redundancy on servers. When I opened it, I found it was an invitation to go and join the guys at Boatshed, Hamble for a brief soiree around the Solent.

The array of electronic goodies and gadgets available for boats is mind blowing and the advertising for them seems to insist you’d be foolish to venture out without all of them so Boatshed Plymouth called by “Just Right” one of this year’s Jester Challenge entrants to see what electronics Gus Davidson will be using to get him and his 20’ Golant Gaffer safely across the pond. Gus has a keen eye on the budget as he’s raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support so he weighs the cost of each piece of equipment carefully to ensure as much money as possible goes to the charity.
