Built in 1885 by Aldous of Brightlingsea this Essex Oyster Smack was completely rebuilt in 2004 by Dan Tester.
The hull is constructed of Oak frames with Iroko planking.
The decks are two layers of 18mm Marine Ply on Oak beams. The decks are epoxy sheathed and painted.

This Essex Oyster Smack was fully rebuilt in 2004 by Dan Tester a respected shipwright who has refurbished and rebuilt a number of Essex Smacks in recent years. Commissioned in 2005 she was in reality a new boat; a 100% rebuild. Her owners from new have maintianed her in excellent condition; an engine was added in 2011 this has completed less than 150 hours running time and then in 2012 she was re-rigged with a topmast. All the work completed on this gorgeous boat has been completed with the utmost thought and care; she has an excellent racing record regularly completing within the lively competitive smack racing scene here on the east coast. The interior is comfortably fitted with a galley and good sized saloon area she will sleep up to 6 people.
