Broker's Comments
Westerly have an excellent reputation for building solid, comfortable and lasting boats. The Solway is a great example of this pedigree, being a well respected, solid, seaworthy, cruiser. The bilge keel provides a boat capable of navigating both inland and offshore waters and the boat has a safe and comfortable feel, with the centre cockpit, making it ideal for families and longer distance cruises, for when the weather changes.
This version has been very well maintained by the current owner, who has invested in numerous upgrades, including a recent engine, sprayhood, sails and headlining to the main and forecabin.
When I visited the boat, I was struck by its light and spacious feel, due to the number of hatches, windows and the open space below, which also provides comfortable accommodation and ample headroom. This sale also has the potential to negotiate an additional inflatable dinghy, outboard and 2 folding bicycles.
This boat is an attractive option for a range of uses, including the potential for coastal cruising, extended passage making and live-aboard possibilities, all in a solid, tidy boat with an excellent reputation.
